5 Reasons YOUR Self Worth is SO Important

A sense of one’s own value as a human being.

Begin to learn the reasons why your self worth can be a game changer. When you FEEL you are of value you will blossom and share YOU with the rest of the world. Feeling you are of value transcends into all areas of life. How you are feeling about yourself forms your personal, financial, spiritual, and physical life.

Having a better understanding of yourself will allow you to experience YOU as a unique and separate individual. You then are empowered to make changes and build on your strengths and improve your weaknesses.

My Story

I have recently gone through a job change and moved to a place of my own. The latter being the first time EVER in my life. Now I get to learn how to be me! This is a post from the heart, as I am actually living through this process as I write it.

My job is going well. But I know in my heart I want to own and build my OWN business. I re-opened my Etsy Shop in 2016. It is a small source of income and I know it can be a much bigger source of income. It takes time and perseverance to make it work. Each day I learn and apply something new.

This blog is a big goal of mine. I hope to strike a feeling with those that read and know that they are not the only one going through “happenings”.

And last, I will put it out there, I have started writing a book. “Behave Yourself” My Dad’s last words to me as I left his home after celebrating the life of my youngest sister who left this world after a 14 year battle with multiple myeloma. Dad and my sister, left this world just four months apart.

Reason 1:

Self worth is taking in the unique qualities or talents that make you YOU. So why not be YOU? Become that person you have always wanted to be. It is right there for the taking.

There’s power in allowing yourself to be known and heard, in owning your unique story, in using your authentic voice. And there’s grace in being willing to know and hear others. This, for me, is how we become.

Michelle Obama

Reason 2:

Self worth allows you to do what you need to do with and without others. Be comfortable with just you. Begin to know your own value. When you internally feel so good about yourself, it will take you where you say you want to go.

Know your value. Get it. And finally live the life that you deserve.

Mika Brzezinski

Reason 3:

Self worth allows you to solve problems with confidence. You can handle whatever life is going to throw at you.

It’s not about how to achieve your dreams. It’s about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you.

Randy Pausch

Reason 4:

Self worth is at the core of our deepest selves.  Take some time each day just for you to dig deep inside yourself.

Your heart is the most powerful muscle in your body. DO what it says…

Jen Sincero

Reason 5:

Self worth based on our internal thoughts will hold strong as long as we do not allow external situations dictate our value. You can choose how to let someone or something make you feel.

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

Elenor Roosevelt

Our Self Worth

How do we create one’s own value as a human being?

It is really important to be aware of what we allow ourselves to be a part of.

The books we read, the people we hang out with, what we watch and listen to on the internet or television can all have a huge impact on our own self worth.

For instance, the book I am reading is You Are A Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero.

This is a great book! I think lots of times we get hung up on why money is important and how we see it as a tool to help us create that feeling of self worth. When we view money as something that allows us to have, do, or be the things that are really important to us it is not bad. In this book we learn to see money as good because it is now viewed as a way to help us help others. And what better way to improve your self worth than helping others?

Who are you hanging out with on a regular basis?

What are you watching and listening to?

Meanwhile, life does continue to happen… How we deal with those “happenings” determines our outcome in life.

What we really want to do, have , or be can get lost in the everyday “happenings”.
Making tough decisions in order to have those things and become that person you say you want to be is quite daunting. But realizing your value and self worth is what will help propel you towards the next goal.

Keep your goals in front of you every single day to help you through the happenings of life.
Just press on!

As a result of my decision to live on my own now, may the struggles begin..
Bring them on. The struggles will test my self-worth for sure.
That’s how the “happenings” of life can make me a better person.

As I work my new job, I keep in mind to leave each day better than the last. While doing  the little extra unexpected tasks it gives me a feeling of self worth at the end of my work day. Yet when I get home I work on my Etsy Shop, Blog, and Email list, as this is what my future is.

What are the little extras you can do?

Have you been through something similar in your own career?

What did you do?
